Selokambang is a natural bath or spring that located in Purwosono village, about 7 km west of Lumajang. It easy to reach this location because has smooth paved roads and it passed by public transportation. The tourist who come to this bath can enjoy  the beautiful, fresh and natural panorama, natural swimming pool, or they can just enjoy other games facilities like boating, water biking, playing tennis.. The society around it believe that the water can be recovered kinds of diseases, for example skin disease, rheumatic, bone disease, etc.

Moreover, there are wide range of traditional food stalls around the pool, with large parking area for family recreation. This natural bath is lay on 12 hectares and there are trees along the area, so it shady and comfortable. The facilities are swimming pool special for adult, children, fishing area and graceful swans.

Mandara Giri Temple

Pura Mandara Giri Semeru is the object of religious tourism in Lumajang. In addition to the Hindu community in Senduro, this temple is often visited by Hindu people from outside the area of ​​East Java, including Bali, especially during the great days as well as religious or ceremonial piodalan (temple anniversary) which is held every year around July. At this ceremony of the Hindu community would appear to meet the various regions of the temple to pray and display various kinds of art, including Balinese art.Located on the east foot of Mount Semeru, behind the founding of this temple there was an interesting story. With the ceremony being held on a regular basis, which involves both of Balinese Hindus and Hindus around the area of ​​Mount Semeru original, it was decided to establish a sanctuary in which the history of the region declared a sacred area during this ancient Javanese.

The development process Pura Mandara Giri Semeru done gradually since 1990 until now, and it is still visible in some parts of the region. Temple area also expanded to the lower east side and is equipped with a bale-bale support temple activities, such as pasraman Sulinggih, simpen bale bale equipment and two pagibungan addition to the kitchen, then on the south side looks Wantilan, a kind of magnificent buildings and spacious hall .

The presence of this temple shows the existence of religious harmony exemplary, that the Hindu community can be received well in East Java are known as areas with strong Muslim community in Java.


mount semeru

Semeru is named from Sumeru, the central world-mountain in Buddhist cosmology. Semeru also referred to Mahameru (Great Mountain), or Mount Semeru or Gunung Semeru - located between the regencies of Malang and Lumajang with geographical position of 8 06' South Latitude and 12 55' East Longitude. The peak of Mount Semeru is 3,676 m above sea level.

Therefore, Mount Semeru is one of the highest mountains on the Java Island. It is a stratovolcano in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. It covers some 800 square kilometers in the centre of East Java. At its northern end is the spectacular Tengger Caldera, Java's largest, with its 10 km barren desert-like sea of sand. Within the caldera rise the deeply fissured volcanic cones of Batok and Bromo, the latter is still active with a cavernous crater from which smoke blows skyward. Temperatures at the top of mount Bromo range about 5 to 18 degrees Celcius. To the South is a rolling upland plateau dissected by valleys and dotted with several small scenic lakes, extending to the foot of Mount Semeru, a towering grey forest-skirted cone dominating the southern landscape. The Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park is one of conservation areas which has been already well known by many people. This is proved with increasing of people to visit the park with various interests like for recreation, camping climbing, trekking, education and research.

Realizing that situation, the government had established Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park area as a nasional park which was established on November 12, 1992 with the decree of Minister of Foresty No.1049/Kpts-Il/1992 with covering an area of 50.267,3 ha, which administratively is located in 4 regencies of Probolinggo, Pasuruan, Malang and Lumajang, East Java Province.

Semeru is one of Indonesia's most active volcanoes. Since 1818, at least 55 eruptions have been recorded (10 of which resulted in fatalities). The volcano belches out a huge cloud of steam and smoke every 20 minutes or so and sometimes interspersed with ash and stones.

Recently, the Indonesian Mount Semeru on East Java was erupted. Precisely on early Sunday, May 10,2009, it apparently erupted, spewing the smoke and ash high into the sky and coating a nearby town in black dust’. Recent cold volcanoes also flood the rivers around the Semeru villages. No evacuation has been ordered but volcanologists are monitoring the volcano closely ‘for signs of lethal heat clouds’ – the term often used in Indonesia for pyroclastic flows. The Indonesian volcano logical authorities said they do not need to raised the alert level at Semeru from the second highest level of ’siaga’ or orange. Proxy 15 sub district areas of Lumajang, East Java, Indonesia have an ash impact, especially they flow the agriculture areas.

Triangle Lake

The Triangle Lake, which contains of three lakes (Ranu Klakah, Ranu Bedali, Ranu Pakis). Those lakes are very popular in Lumajang and always visited by many tourists.They are three popular lakes which situated on triangle position : Ranu Klakah (Klakah Lake), Ranu Bedali (Bedali Lake) and Ranu Pakis (Pakis Lake) These lakes formed an attractive resort surrounded by beautiful mountainous scenery and the beauty of Mount Lamongan. They are located in northern Lumajang and are easily reached by public or private transportation. Visit these lakes with your family, friends, partner, or the others, because the lakes are very rich of nature scenery. These lakes also commonly visited by a lot of people who want to refresh their mind and take the fresh air.

1.  Ranu Klakah (Klakah Lake)

A light mist that enveloped the mountain peaks Lamongan down slowly replaced the warmth of the sun shining on the surface of Ranu Klakah . The cool surface of the lake located at an altitude of 900 masl ( meters above sea level ) is slowly rising as fishermen/fish farmers to rush down to the lake to feed the fish .
Ranu Klakah  which means lake is one of the 3 series of triangles Ranu which generally became the first tourist destination before heading Ranu Ranu Bedali and Ferns . This lake has a third location adjacent , Ranu Pakis taken about 10 minutes by motor vehicles and located Bedali Ranu of Ranu ± 6 km Klakah .Besides having a beautiful lake tour , Ranu Klakah a former prehistoric settlements still save heritage sites such as finding artifacts .

Findings historic objects around Ranu Klakah , Tegalrandu Village , District Klakah , actually the last 2006-2007 years , had been investigated by the Yogyakarta Archaeological Center , where the albino Yogja suspects around Ranu Klakah that an ancient settlement . 2. Ranu Bedali (Bedali Lake) 

Ranubedali is still rarely unknown to the people or travelers. But the beauty is not inferior to other lakes in Lumajang like Ranu Kumbolo . Ranubedali is one of a series of Ranu Triangle , with a distance of 7 km from Ranu Pakis or 6 km from Ranu Klakah . Ranubedali located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level with an area of ​​25 hectares and a depth of about 28 meters . Although not well known , visited Ranubedali not too difficult . There is a guide that directs tourists to Ranubedali . If you do not see the board , do not hesitate to ask to local people around .

Ranubedali located at the foot of Mount Lamongan , 1,671 meters above sea level .To Ranu Bedali , you will pass through the downing streets  and a swimming pool . There is also a windmill which is a legacy of the Dutch colonial period . Unfortunately windmills that had rotted and age. Here also there are two fairly large waterfall , but you have to pass through bushes . 10 minute walk from the pool , you can enjoy the beauty of  Ranubedali with green trees that surround it . 3. Ranu Pakis (Pakis Lake)
Approximately 10 minutes with two-wheel drive or four wheel  to Ranu Pakis, if we start from a tourist visit Ranu Klakah. This lake is a tourist attraction in the village of Ranu Pakis with a distance of 20.5 km North side Lumajang city, has an altitude of 600 meters, above sea level with an area of ​​50 ha lake and depth of 26 m.
